Summer Reading
Summer Reading List
Students read the assigned book or books for their upcoming grade and complete a grade-level assignment, due in August. Reading over the summer keeps literature concepts fresh and gives students a strong foundation to begin the year. Even 20 minutes a day helps make reading a habit.

Summer Math
Required Summer Math
Summer is the time to build math facts, speed, and accuracy. Strong basics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) set students up for success all year. Students show their work in every math class, and calculators are not used until Algebra I.
Requirements
- Grades 3 and above: memorize the 0 to 12 multiplication tables by August
- Complete the grade-level math packet, the primary source for skill review
- Track daily practice: for every 15 to 20 minutes of math, a parent initials and dates one Roman Numeral on the Math Practice Tracker. Students submit the completed Tracker in August for a special treat and a grade.
